Therapeutic Residential Care for Children

Nurture Care Group specialises in providing therapeutic care to children aged 8-18 who have experienced considerable trauma throughout their lives.

We believe every child deserves to be at the centre of someone’s world. That is why our service is built around our children, they are and always will be at the centre of all we do.

Nurture Care Group comprises of a passionate, dedicated team, all working together to provide therapeutic residential care to traumatised children throughout each of our homes.

Our Story

Nurture Care Group was founded by two people who are passionate about supporting children who have been impacted by adverse experiences: a Psychologist Consultant with over 16 years specialising in complex and developmental trauma and a Residential Homes Manager who has supported hundreds of looked after children over the last 16 years.

This shapes who we are as a group, what we provide for our children and how we care for them.

With 30 years of experience working in children’s residential care between us, we have been privileged to care for and support some of the most traumatised children in the UK.

Being involved with industry-wide residential care providers over the years has given us some invaluable insights into what WE feel does and does not work for our children and the services they receive.

This has informed our service hugely and shaped our ethos of:

We hold relationships at the centre of our work with our children and the value we hold in our staff.

We provide children with a stable, long-term home where we can really make a difference in their lives, provide them with adults who can nurture them, keep them safe and help them process some of their past trauma to allow them to grow and progress.

Remaining a bespoke provider that is quality focused – Our experiences tell us that significant growth tends to impact the quality of services and care. We are happy and proud to be small and put quality before quantity so we are able to provide exceptional care for our children and support to our teams.  This sets us apart from most large residential services, as Nurture Care Group is owned and operated by two experienced individuals who are passionate about the safety, well-being and welfare of our children and teams. We have come together operationally and clinically to help the children who come into our care.

We hold relationships at the centre of our work with children and the value we hold in our staff.

We want to nurture and support our staff to be able to care for our children in the best way they can and in a way that doesn’t lead to burn out. This is why we provide them with clinically informed training, ongoing reflective practice sessions, mental health support and a management team who respects and supports their teams.

We provide children with a stable, long-term home where we can really make a difference in their lives, provide them with adults who can nurture them, keep them safe and help them process some of their past trauma to allow them to grow and progress.

Our Approach

Underpinned by our core NURTURE values, Our Approach is to:

Ensure our children are surrounded by experienced nurture carers who can support them when they reach for the stars.

Help our children live in a home that feels like a home, allows them to be playful, curious and joyful. Each of our homes are uniquely decorated to create a calming, homely space.

Surround them with adults and other children who are matched and placed with thought, consideration and care to support them along their journey
Provide carers and clinicals who are developed to understand, show their children acceptance for who they are and empathy for their experiences so that they can progress.

Create a true sense of protection and safety in our children by creating and nurturing positive attachments.

Provide our children with the therapeutic support that is right for them, where they “are at” and what they can cope with.

Ensure the whole nurture care team, irrespective of hierarchical structure or position, understands our children’s needs, is trained and skilled enough to be able to support them, and holds an innate ability to nurture, care and play with our children whatever their age or experiences.
